Inflatable Kayaks – Are They Worth It?

1 February, 2012 | | No Comment

Recently there has been an influx of Inflatable Kayaks in the market, this has caused somewhat of a conflict in the kayaking community. There is now a division between kayak purists who still prefer rigid kayaks and supporters of the inflatable kayaks. A lot has been said about rigid kayaks, and of course it is still the best to use, but due to technological innovations, inflatable kayaks are slowly getting to be as strong and as reliable as their rigid counterparts. This leads us back to the initial question, are they worth it? Well that depends on what you want to use them for. If you just want a strong kayak you can use to ride on quiet rivers or shorelines then it is perfect. If you just want a small fishing kayak you can carry around in trips, again the inflatable kayak is perfect for that also. But if you want to ride rapids and white water then you are still better off with a rigid kayak.

Terran Guide – How to Play Well Against Zerglings, Banelings, and Mutalisks

This seems to be one of the most difficult strategies to go up against for most terran players. Zerglings, banelings, and mutalisks are very powerful together. Mutalisks are tough to defend against as it is. They are the fastest air units in the game that can attack both ground and air units.

Banelings do very well against marines. Zerglings are very fast and can surround your army to trap them while the banelings clean up your army.

To counter these units you must practice controlling your army aggressively. When you have a large bio army (an army of marines and marauders) and you see banelings rolling your way you need to split them up to make their attack as ineffective as possible.

Also make sure to include thors in your army to absorb the banelings explosions and to fire at the mutalisks. Thors have splash damage does great against mutalisks. You just have to watch out for their “magic box” maneuver. For more strategies get this starcraft 2 guide.

Choosing the Perfect Canoe Carrier for Any Vehicle

... Watersports / Thule 837 Hul-a-Port Kayak-Canoe Carrier - FoldableWhen choosing a canoe carrier, consider how often, and with what vehicle it will be used, as well as what the budget is for the purchase.

If the same vehicle is always used to transport the canoe, then a permanent carrier is probably the way to go. These are racks that attach to the top of the car and can be used over and over again, and can often fit not only canoes but kayaks, skis, bikes, and more. They come in different sizes to accommodate different types of cars and canoes, and some come with straps for securing the canoe to the rack.

If more flexibility is desired, or if the cost of a permanent rack is prohibitive, then a foam block system of canoe carrier is better. These sets come with several pieces of foam that go on top of the car to keep the car or canoe from getting scratched. The canoe is then secured with ropes. Both systems have their pros and cons, and are better suited to different situations.
